How to extract the audio from a video
- Choose a video from your phone or computer. It must be 1 minute or shorter.
- Choose MP3 for a lightweight file to share, or WAV if you are going to edit it.
- Listen to the result and download it.
Example: you recorded a Reel talking to the camera and want to use that voice in another video. You upload the clip, pick MP3 and download the audio to import it into your editor.
Why only 1 minute?
The video is opened and processed in your device's memory, without sending it to any server. With short clips it runs fast on phones too. If your video is longer, trim it first with your phone's editor and upload only the part you need.
Formats and compatibility
It works with the formats your browser can read: MP4 and MOV (what phones record) and WebM. If a video won't open, it is usually because it uses a codec your browser doesn't support: try Chrome or Safari, or convert the video to MP4.
Use this tool with your own videos or with the author's permission. If it is a song, you can find its tempo with the BPM detector.
