How to create a WhatsApp link

  1. Pick the country and type your number without the country code.
  2. If you like, write the message people will send you. It will show up ready to send.
  3. Copy the link and paste it wherever you need it, or turn it into a QR code.

Example: for the number (305) 123-4567 in the United States with the message "Hola", the link is:

https://wa.me/13051234567?text=Hola

Where to use your WhatsApp link

  • In your Instagram, TikTok or Facebook bio.
  • On buttons on your website or online store.
  • In Meta or Google ads that send people to WhatsApp.
  • In emails, email signatures and PDF catalogs.
  • Printed as a QR code on cards, packaging or in your shop.

Tip: use a message that says where the contact came from ("Hi, I'm coming from Instagram") so you can tell which channel brings you the most customers.

Frequently asked questions

Does the link work on a computer?

Yes. On a computer it opens WhatsApp Web or the desktop app. On a phone it opens the app directly.

Do I need WhatsApp Business?

No. The link works with regular WhatsApp and with WhatsApp Business.

What about numbers from Argentina and Mexico?

In Argentina, mobile numbers usually have a 9 after the 54 country code and the area code without the 15 (for example +54 9 11 1234 5678). In Mexico, use the 52 country code followed by the 10 digits.

Does the link expire?

No. It works as long as the number has an active WhatsApp account.

Do you store my number?

No. The link is generated in your browser and never sent to our servers.
